Diocesan Museum

The need to transform some rooms of the Cloisters of Sant'Eustorgio, which with the basilica forms one of the oldest monumental complexes in the city of Milan, to host a temporary exhibition with large canvases by artists from Pakistan, minimizing the impact of the installation to avoid costly site restoration works. The presence of chains reinforcing the barrel vault of the entrance gallery was the cue to transform them into structural sealing elements of large plywood panels covered in gray fireproof fabric on which the artworks selected for the exhibition were fixed.

Once the exhibition was over, the same panels were reused in an entirely different way, with a combined ground support system, for later installation so that they could always be recycled and adapted for new uses. The dark color of the fabric was chosen to reduce the brightness around the individual works and bring out the lights and colors of the painting or sculpture placed on the panel. The scenography of the installation was completed with a lighting system with RGB LED function that allowed the production of a wide range of colors
